Motorola Signature 27 (2026): The Best New Flagship With Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme
Motorola is back in the flagship race. The Motorola Signature 27, launched on November 5, 2026 in select global markets, is the company’s new top-end phone, and it arrives with the fastest mobile chip Qualcomm has ever made, a 200MP periscope camera and a battery that should comfortably outlast a day. It is Motorola’s first true flagship in five years, and the specification sheet reads like a phone that intends to be taken seriously.
Motorola Signature 27 Specifications
At the heart of the Motorola Signature 27 is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, Qualcomm’s flagship mobile platform, built on a 2nm process and running at a peak clock of up to 5.01GHz. It is paired with the Adreno 850 GPU and up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, with up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. On paper, that is the fastest combination available in an Android phone today, and it should handle demanding games, video editing and on-device AI without breaking a sweat.
The screen is equally ambitious. The Motorola Signature 27 has a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED Duo LTPO Tandem OLED display with a 1272 x 2772 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, promising smooth scrolling and sharp text. Peak brightness is rated at 12,000 nits, which should keep the display readable in bright sunlight, and the glass is Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3, a first for a Motorola phone. Stereo speakers tuned by Bang & Olufsen complete a package that is clearly aimed at media and gaming.
The camera system is built around three rear sensors. The main camera is a 50MP Sony LYT-910 with an f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilisation, joined by a 200MP periscope telephoto that offers up to 100x digital zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide. A dedicated action sensor sits alongside them, and the phone can record video at up to 8K at 30 frames per second. The front camera is a 50MP unit with autofocus, which should suit video calls and selfies alike.
Motorola Signature 27 Battery and Charging
Battery life looks like a strength. The Motorola Signature 27 carries a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Motorola is also promising lasting performance in the long term, with a battery rated to retain 95 percent of its capacity after five years of use, and the phone is compatible with MagSafe-style wireless accessories.
Durability has been given the same attention as performance. The Motorola Signature 27 is rated IP68 and IP69 against dust and water, and it meets the MIL-STD-810H military standard for toughness. That combination should reassure anyone planning to keep the phone for years, a point reinforced by the software promise: seven years of operating system upgrades and seven years of security updates.
Motorola Signature 27 Price and Availability
The Motorola Signature 27 has been launched in select global markets, going on sale globally soon through the company’s website, with an India launch expected later in November. Pricing is set at EUR 1,599, which works out to roughly Rs 1,70,000, placing it firmly among the most expensive phones on sale. It will be available in two Pantone colours, Capulet Olive and Coal Smoke, both with a premium finish that marks out the Signature line from Motorola’s mid-range phones.
Why the Motorola Signature 27 Matters
The Motorola Signature 27 is the follow-up to the Motorola Signature, which launched in January 2026 as the start of a new premium line. This model takes that idea much further, pairing the fastest chip Motorola has ever shipped with a camera system and a battery that match the best in the business. For Motorola, the phone is a statement of intent: after years of focusing on mid-range phones and value flagships, the company wants a seat at the top table again, and the Signature 27 is the device it is using to claim it.
That price will be the hardest part of the pitch. The Motorola Signature 27 is competing with the best phones from Samsung, Apple and Google, and it needs to convince buyers that its combination of speed, cameras and battery is worth flagship money. The hardware case is strong, though, and the long software support answers the most common objection to buying a Motorola flagship: that it will be forgotten in two years.
The launch also matters for the wider Android market. Qualcomm’s new flagship chip sits at the centre of several 2027 flagships, and we recently covered how Qualcomm is pushing its chips into data centres as well as phones. Motorola has not said when the Signature 27 will reach every market, so availability will vary by region over the coming weeks.
